We open tonight! I don't have a question or anything I'm just really excited, and I can't sleep. It's the first time I've had a role where I'm in the last group out at curtain call. That's probably stupid but I'm excited anyway.

I'll tell you what I tell all my casts before opening night, "Have the most fun you've ever had in your entire life."

Break a leg!

Break a leg!

It's a great rush having that last curtain call.   The only time I've had it is when I played Oscar in The Odd Couple.   Probably won't have it again for awhile....I don't exactly have the leading man look.

Thanks all, we opened to an (almost) sold out house, and they seemed to receive it well. I'm not satisfied with my performance of course, but who among us ever is, really?

The worst judge (in my opinion) of an actor's performance is the actor himself.  When I'm on stage, I should be concentrating on the task at hand and not be stepping outside to try to view myself.  How many times have you come off stage feeling like you just stunk the place up only to have your director or audience tell you (sincerly) how wonderful you were?  This has also happened to me in the reverse where I've felt really good about a particular performance only to have the director tell me he felt I was a little flat (or off, or looked a little tired, etc.) tonight.

Have a great run Eve.  There's nothing wrong with not being 100% satisfied with your performance on a particular night, but don't take too much stock in your self-assessment either.

[/QUOTE] Thanks, and don't worry, I realized a while back that you're right, I'm the worst judge and will probably never be satisfied with any performance I give. I doubt it's an uncommon trait among creative types. My brother is an artist and he's never satisfied that any of his works are finished properly. Maybe its just a common trait in my family
