I would like to communicate with other senior adult little theaters...as to what type of plays you do; what your rehearsal schedule is like; how you keep members not cast from feeling bad, etc. The troupe I founded here in Gainesville, VA two years ago, now has 70+ members and competition is strong. We have done (until our present production) musicals published mainly by Pioneer. We rehearse over a two or three month period--about two to three times a week, depending on when we can get rehearsal space. Dancers rehearse separately until the last three weeks. I would like to produce smaller plays, but feel that many of our members will drop out, if they can't act. We have difficulty getting stage managers, directors, scenery, etc. Over the past year, we have organized a readers theater to help those not cast feel part of the group, but attendance has been dwindling. We only do two shows a year for four nights. They are a dinner theater event. Please let me know how you run your senior adult little theater. Thanks.
