I've been searching for the lyrics to a song I saw on a friends musical theatre performance video. There are no credits or titles given. It was performed by six people (4 women, 2 men) who were each writing a personal ad to the newspaper. Very humerous. The song begins with the lyrics: "15 words, 2 lines, running for 3 weeks; starting with single male seeks. 30 words, 4 lines, kinda coy and sorta coarse; starts with recently divorced. ends with no bozos, no bimbos please...I can't believe I'm doing one of these." The chorus is a jaunty repeat of the line, "This has nothing to do with love, it has everything to do with...diction, a clever turn of phrase.." and so on. Does this ring a bell with anyone??!! |

The musical I believe is called "Personals". Musical revue with Book and Lyrics by David Crane, Seth Friedman and Martin Kauffman, Music by William Dreskin, Joel Phillip Friedman, Seth Friedman, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz and Michael Skloff. It is carried by Samuel French. I hope this what you were looking for. Linda
