Any Applegates here? I'd like
to have your notes, thoughts, impressions on this character
and/or the play in general, from anyone who's been involved.

I played Miss Lola to an Applegate who was brilliant in the scene as a "building inspector" (he lisped) and as the rube reporter from Hannibal. Big guy. Weighed #375. I appreciated that he could draw focus to me by keeping eye contact during my songs.
Break a leg.

I have played Applegate and had much fun with the role. I played him with a lot of arrogance. I think he should come off very confident about him self. Although he is a funny charactor I think it is important to play him as a villian, not a clown. The jokes will still be funny but focus on his evil side. Also feel free to add accents or any different traits to the many diffrent people he pretends to be. I think Ray Waltstan plays him to much like the traditional "Devil". I think Applegate says a lot of things almost sarcastically. Just have fum with him and make your own interpretation of him. Dont feel like you have to play him like the movie.

I saw you and, this play at RLT! You were so convincing and, hilarious at times. The special effects (the cigarette trick) looked wonderful. I enjoyed all your facial expressions and, everything that you put into the character. You were probably actually my favorite character in the play. Great job!
