Hi, i'm new to the boards and was wondering if i could get some help. my school is wanting to put on halloween plays and i need to make some fake fire(or something like it). i have red gel, and a few flood lights and a par can (or two i can't remeber). so can anyone give me a few ideas or where i can pick up something cheap? |

Hi Master, Novelty stores sell fake fire units: colored lights, a fan, flame shaped fabric. All this for $10 to $15. I bought one that I have used for 3 years in a drug store (Rite Aid I think.) right after Halloween for 50% off. You can add a couple of blasts from a fog machine, if you have one, for added effect. Play with placement and additional lighting and you should have very realistic looking fire. Linda |

One word of caution....we tried out a fog machine ( thankfully in rehearsal) and it set off the smoke alarms. That's one way to empty a theater.
