We just did our first murder mystery
this past weekend at the local country club and it went over
great. We're considering putting a package together and sending
out a mailing to surrounding areas to promote the offering.
Do any of you have great murder mysterys that have gone over well for you? Any particular company that is better to work with than others? Since we're new to the murder mystery's I'm looking for as much info as possible from those that have gone before us. Thanks |

Are you asking about interactive mysteries where the
audience participates by discovering/selecting the murderer? Or are you askng about stage shows (i.e. "The Mousetrap") that are simply presentational? |

In this case ... audience participation with a clue hunt at the end of
the first act. I have several actors that are interested in
putting a package together for other service groups, companies, or
meetings.

We saw "Shear Madness" in Boston - audience participation -
it's a murder-mystery in a hair salon piece. Very very funny. I've never seen anybody else do it. But we had a grand time. |

If I remember correctly, the reason you don't see "Shear Madness" performed often is that the rights to the show are held privately and are available to very few venues. Linda |

Linda S. is correct. The producers of "Shear
Madness" are seeking out professional franchise opportunities much like "Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding." For inter-active murder mysteries, Check out www.whodunnitinc.com. They've been doing this kind of stuff for years as pre-packaged dinner theater events and even offer scripts for sale to other groups. |
