Community Theater Green Room Discussion Board: Business Manager Responsibilities

   Do most community theatre groups have a Business Manager?
Is this position usually a volunteer or a paid professional? 
Our group has always had a volunteer Business Manager but he or she usually quits after a year (if they can last that long). What are the viable alternatives? Are there business managers for hire floating around?

	I?m sure they are depending how big the gold brick is? The ones that pay around here, are connected with the box office & are not titled Business Managers as such. All either get a yearly honorarium or get a percentage of the seats sold! In all cases they seem to boost the bums on seats.
