Any wizards out there who could recommend a simple computer program for the community theater that would catalog, list, enter info about plays, actors, volunteers, tech crews, dates & addresses without using excell?

One of the easiest to use spreadsheets is the one that comes with Microsoft Works. As with everything else, there is a certain learning curve, of course, which you must be willing to climb. Also, look at the cheap software displays of your local computer store. You'll be surprised at what you may find for 12 bucks.

Sounds like Microsoft Access is what you are looking for. It's a database program that comes with Microsoft Office Professional though you can purchase it separately. (Costly) There is a shareware database called Treepad @ http://www.treepad.com/treepadfreeware/ . I've never used it (I have Access) but it looks like it will suit your purpose. I believe there is a free version and a shareware version ($29.95).
Hope this helps. Ozzie |
