Hello, I need plays that will interest middle school students (mostly black, but all from low income homes) and that is in public domain.

You may want to try a play called Zartan the Grapeman. It is sort of a spoof of Tarzan (which I know the old movies were primarily white people) However, this play employs people of all races and also uses a lot of females. The script is absolutely hilarioud. |

Regarding plays in the public domain - here's an interesting idea: When I was in University we did 'Lysistrata' which is 2000 years old so obviously public now. But our direct re-wrote it in today's language and we set it in a karaoke bar so we could use a mix of today's music. So you could take a similar old play - or shakespeare or something and do that. just a think =) |
