I was told by my professor this would be a good play to put on. I can
not go any riskier than Little shop of Horrors as we had a hard time
getting the board to approve this. How do I get royality rights
to produce this play. Or if you have any ides of a play I will be glad
to hear them. If I do a play in august they are musicals. June can go
either way. This Ocetette Bridge Club is this a comedy/ tradegy. Is
this Horror?

Hi, Samuel French holds the rights to this comedy. "Octette focuses on the stories of eight Irish Catholic sisters who get together every other week to play bridge, gossip and solve each other?s problems. Each of the eight sisters are all very different but have binds that hold them together through life?s ups and downs." Hope this helps. L. |

If you're interested in a play about Irish Catholic nuns and the Magdalen Laundries they ran throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, have a look at our 4m, 16f two-act dramatic play called 'The Magdalen Whitewash'. Synopsis - Brought to recent attention by the film 'The Magdalene Sisters', this play vividly portrays the despair and inhumanity inflicted on the 'Maggies' - those unfortunate girls who had the misfortune to be institutionalised in the Magdalen Laundries. Their crimes? Being pregnant mainly. Their punishment? Separated from their familes and long hours in the laundry. Requires a mostly young cast. It was written for production by schools and has been performed in the UK and in the USA to great acclaim. It is a strong, tearjerking story about a subject which was swept under the carpet for many years. Look on our website ... ... under 'For Schools'. 'Plays', 'Two Act', 'Drama' regards David |
