Any ideas on how to make/acquire a Little Wonder for OKLAHOMA?
It's a scope type tube with a spring loaded knife.

You could use a retractable prop knife (http://www.nightmarefactory.com/weapons.html#knife has one for $8) with a simple catch placed across the knife handle so the blade is in the hidden position initially.

Did you ever find one? We're doing "OK!" now, and I sure could use the help.
TIA. |

take apart a retractable prop knife and work it in to a piece of PVC to make it more of a tube. I swear I have one somewhere in my prop basement. (or had at one point prior to '08 flood anyhow). send me an email at geoff.agave@gmail.com and I'll look for it and send pictures if I find it.

I hesitate to use anything that is "retracable", especially if it is getting near the eyes. there will be that one night when things go wrong...
What I did was to buy several fake switchblade-type combs and fit them into PVC, and use something shiny like foil to replace/cover the comb. I had it rigged so that Judd could push the button and you would see the knife flick out, but if the actor inadvertently pushed the button while looking into the device it would hit his forehead instead of his eye...

I have always been under the impression that the blade pops out underneath at a right angle to the tube, and then the tube is grabbed and slammed downward so that the blade penetrates the viewer's neck.
It's designed to kill, not just blind! |
