Hey guys! Each year I will usually post some photos from our show!

Here are some photos from Sadie and the Seventh Son an original 19th century noir murder mystery!

Set in Boston during the 1880's, Sadie and the Seventh son is a supernatural thriller surronding a young orphan searching for her parents!

Wow Neil, great costumes and sets.  Beautiful work. Must have a dedicated staff of people. Not only do the costumes look absolutely correct in most cases the ACTORS fit the period and the look. While you have some nice looking young ladies in some of those roles, they "fit" the period, the hair styles - the overall look of that period.  I've seen so many shows where the ingenue' wants to be a beauty queen and isn't interested so much in keeping it real and in period.  These ladies while all very nice looking could be cast in a movie of this period. Even that young boy sitting on the stair - very cute and seemingly "into" his character.  You must have a tremendous costumer or if not a permanent fixture - and the costumes are rented - well you evidently found the right rental house for these because they simply look great. Awesome work.

Hey TonyDi!

Thanks for checking them out! We actually did this all with two people. Myself and my mom! All of them women's garments we made from scratch using period patterns from a company called Truly Victorian. They are fantastic! They are patterns that have been drafted with modern techniques but usuing actual antique clothing patterns! We even did the hats from buckram and wire and built them fully ourselves. The designs I had come up with made it impossible for us to rent the female stock. All the men's stuff is from our own stock, and from a local college in Rhode Island that I attended and still have a great working relationship with!

Our ladies are great, and love theater ,so they will let us do anything. Since we are small and have almost no budget (This show was completed, sets costumes PR etc for just under 1000 dollars) I also did their hair, and learned a TON!! We only used 1 wig in the show and the rest of the hair was set every night (we had a three weekend run)

Again thanks for checkin us  out! Hope all is well. People STILL talk about that Cyrano nose you lent us!

Very nice.  I appreciate how the colors you chose must have popped on stage.  Thanks for posting.

Hi Neil,

Holy cow, Batman, that's AMAZING!!! TWO people doing ALL THAT? Crickey mate, did you get any sleep?  LOL  That's simply incredible.  And what's even more incredible than that is that you did it on the small budget you did.  Incredibly amazing. Someone really knows how to shop apparently.  But really the costumes look brilliant for sure. And HATS too, AND HAIR!!??? Man you're group must be dynamite. THAT's the kind of committment you rarely see. As long as I've been doing this stuff myself too, I can count perhaps on one hand, the number of times I had (much less SEEN) that kind of committment with a CT group. Lucky guy.

As for Cyrano's nose - I am just delighted that worked out for you. Anytime I can help just ask.  And future great luck with your shows. If they look this good surely you're aces with your patrons.

Tony-Thanks again! I did get sleep and held a full time job on top of it all.

We are about 35 years old and the people who act, and build, and sew, and make music for us are all incredibly dedicated. The money that we make from the show goes to the restoration and matinence of the hisorical building that we perform in!

www.campkiwanee.com is the link to the building itself. It is the old turn of the century summer home of a Boston coal baron!

the above is a link to a newspaper article done on our group and myself and best friend who ended up producing Sadie this year! Our whole group really embodies the meaning of "Community" in a way that is quickly vanishing in America!

There was a fabric store that was going out of business that we found near  Boston and we really raided their goods. Walked away with full bolts of silk and upholstry trim for 5/6 dollars apeice! FOR THE WHOLE BOLT!!! It was a fantastic and very lucky find!

Gelcat, thanks for the congrats! We had a blast with it! Even figured out how to make our monsters eyes glow red!!
