OK, Nobody hates me more than myself for procrastinating, but, We open our production BINGO THE MUSICAL in just a month and I havent been able to locate a machine yet that of course is critical to the show. sure we could rent and I have started that process but thought it wouldnt hurt to throw a liine out here for anyone that might have a machine (blower or cage) and board. Maybe a hall that used to have a game and its still in the back room?, a game that recently updated to new machines? some church that really isnt into the whole "gambling" thing anymore.. just thoughts! Thanks for any help in any direction! |

Many of the bingo halls in churches that I've seen have homemade machines. They take two pieces of plywood cut in circles, drill a hole in the middle of them (to accomodate a spindle for the cage to turn on. Then they cover the two pieces with hardware cloth (metal mesh or screening), stapled in place. A metal rod is slid through the holes (and the upright supports) and bent on one side into a crank shape. Then they cut an opening into the cage, bending back the loose wire, so it can't cut the person. and place another pieces of cut wire over the newly formed 'door' in the cage (bent wire can form the door hinge and latch).
Uprights can be two two by fours mounted on a large square of plywood.
So if you can't buy, you might want to build.

Sorry, I should have been more specific, the setting for the show is a bingo hall with a professional game system, a basket or blower, a masterboard and a light up number board are required. the audience plays 3 gamesof bingo and much of the action, of course, revolves around the calling and lighting of numbers. spinning baskets rent for cheap, but its the other componants that are the tricky part. bingothemusical.com has tons of pics as does the facebook page too, if you are interested in seeing what I'm looking for, and BTW, the show is AWESOME fun!
