Hey guys! Anybody have an experience with making/using/buying faux cobblestone to make a wood floor look like a cobblestone street?

We are doing a Victorian Noir and want to make the floor of our theater look like cobblestones and we are stumped!

You actually want to texture it for cobblestone, not just faux paint?

Cut 1/2" dona cona into your desired cobblestone shape and size.  File the edges a bit to get rid of the right angle.  Coat the top and sides will a light cement/sand mix.  Let dry, paint your desired colour and attach to floor.  This is time consuming but looks really good in the end.

Be aware that if there is any stage combat or falls in the show, the landing on the fake cobblestones won't be a soft one.

Yea we are using it for a small space just one of those Victorian themes we want to get into the design. What does the dona cona provide over sheets of plywood? Is it lighter?

gelcat, yes we want actual cobblestones not just faux painted ones. we want the 3d quality of them.

Lighter, cheaper, easier to cut into odd shapes.

EPS Foam would work very well for this. It can be carved and painted. www.univfoam.com offers a great deal on foam sheets.
