has anyone ever had a publisher or agent representative show up to a performance to be sure that you are following your contract?

I have performed in front of two agents, and in a separate instance, I know of a theatre that was fined for not securing rights to omit a song from a show, and changed lyrics for content.

We never made it to performance, but we did receive a letter during rehearsal for "Dracula" informing us that we would need to do the show as written, or they would not grant us a license again.
Everyone wondered how they knew we changed a small part that just wasn't working. Needless to say, we did the show as written. |
