We pay our director, music director, scenic designer, choreographer, and costumer.  We are a children's theater so I expect them to teach the children too.  I pay for a light designer because "he" is like gold to us, but usually one of our students run the light board.  We pay for sound if we have to rent the equipment, but nobody is paid to run the sound board.  I try to keep the contracts at a relatively low price, but give bonuses if the show is a money maker.  I want our theatre to "share the wealth" as much as is possible.  I think it helps the community when artists are paid.  Really what I pay some of them is more of a stipend than payment.
