hey gang, big problem. Have ETC Expression Lighting Board, I know albeit archaic, but you gotta get what you can, tried replacing disk drive on board, during replacement short circuit occured on power supply circuit board. Anyone have experience with this problem? And/Or any suggestions on what to do, fuses in board are still good but board is not powering up. Help! Show going up in less than a week and all dimmer packs are configured to this board! :) |

I've never seen this board, but if something shorted while installing a disk drive, you need to look for bad pass elements (usually transistors or regulators) in the +5V or +12V circuitry. Why they use fuses and always OVER rate them, I'll never understand. They provide no protection for the "wiped out instantly" pass elements. This is not something a casual observer could (or should) try to do. Get someone with electronics troubleshooting experience (and the equipment to do it) in there to help you. Good luck!
